AI reads plain text (called Markdown) best. These free, open-source tools convert your office files on your own computer:

Only convert business documents: policies, procedures, price lists, FAQs, templates. Never client or patient records.

No-install option: upload the files to NotebookLM or a Claude/ChatGPT Project. They read most files directly.
